Hitchhiker Spotlight

How long have you been on the Hitchhikers team?

I started in Class 1, so I believe around early April.

What projects have you worked on since joining the Hitchhikers team?

Since joining Hitchhikers, I've worked on a total of 25 implementations, 7 of which have gone live! Specific projects include Peloton, Sixpoint Brewing, Banner Bank and Luna Grill. I've also been able to leverage the Hitchhiker experience to assist with my work on the sales engineering team, including helping to build out the Hi-Tech demo experience Marc & Lexi leveraged during a recent webinar.

What is your proudest accomplishment since joining the Hitchhikers team?

I think my proudest accomplishment is helping to get our first Answers AFT converted into a paid customer. It's also been really awesome to just work together with the entire Hitchhikers team and help each other out when necessary, as we're all learning as we go (and really quickly).

How has becoming an administrator/Hitchhiker affected your career?

I think in a few ways. For one, the additional exposure to the leadership team and the ability to work with other members of the revenue and product teams that I had not done previously has been great. Additionally, the hard-skills I've gained from learning the basics of web design will hopefully be a helpful foundation as I continue to deepen my technical understanding.

What is one thing people might not know about being an administrator?

I think one thing that I did not know was how robust and flexible the Answers experience actually is. It's hard to fully grasp the technology until you build it out first-hand, so hopefully Hitchhikers training is something the entire company can go through eventually!

What is the toughest challenge you have had to overcome on a project?

I think the toughest challenge overall has just been balancing all of the different projects alongside SE work. It gets tough to prioritize when you have a handful of clients all anxious to go live, meanwhile issues start popping up which cause delays and a feeling of overwhelmingness. I think a good piece of advice has been to just stay calm, cool and collected and seek help from your peers!
